Immigrants from Sweden These immigrants from Sweden are near related to Jan Helling and listed in his family records 2018. The order given is in time from the first and to the last emigrant. This Information includes their birthplace and name in Sweden, and when and from where they emigrated. In column” Name in USA” is also included their name in USA and after woman her marriage. The column “Place to settle down” is far from complete and in many cases just a guess about where they first settled down.
The list above has at least about 40 American relatives who emigrated from Sweden. All of them left Sweden during the 19th century. This list is however not complete. I will be very happy if you make additions and changes of written information. Frans Benjamin Josephsson (Number 2), in Wisconsin he later became Frank Wilson. In 1879 he married Anna Lovisa Larsdotter in Stockholm, Wisconsin. She was a daughter of Christina Wallqvist (presented in my book “My sister Christina”) and Lars Erik Peterson. Frank Wilson (Frans Josephsson) did belong to a large family and other near related families that emigrated from the parish Karlskoga in Närke (This parish has got a changed borderline is nowadays a part of Värmland , and not part of Närke any more). Frank and his near relatives emigrated 1853 and 1854 and they settled down in Stockholm, Wisconsin. If you are interested in tracing these immigrants you can on internet search for “Emigrant index and Immigrant index”, with information in English from: stadsarkivet@orebro.se. In total 5 700 inhabitants did emigrate at the end of the 19th century from Karlskoga parish! They were altogether too many people for me to be listed above. But they are somehow related to me via Christina Wallqvist. The total number of emigrants from the whole county of Närke (Or Örebro county) was about 48 600 persons. (Christina Wallqvist and her family were included among them).
