Maybe our Helling family is not very typical for other Swedish families

Our family have many family friends from around the world, not only in USA. For every new added country, we have had to learn something about their culture. This even if we only are able to speak English and German, and of course understand the languages in Norway and Denmark.
    

Sonja has during many years been working for children who have come to Sweden without their parents,

often killed in warfare. She has helped them to be integrated in the Swedish society. One of her success stories is about a boy from Afghanistan who came here 7 years ago. He had then very little experience
from schooling and could speak any other language than dari.

He is now studying economics at the Univerity in Karlstad, and is good in both reading and talking English.
